Changes Are Not Syncing

If changes to notes, tasks, or calendars do not show up right away on another device or a teammate's screen, check your network and sync status.

Check the Save Status

  1. Look at the save status in the top-right of the note.
  2. If you see ✎ Unsaved changes or ⏳ Saving..., wait a moment.
  3. When you see Saved, saving is complete.
  4. If you see ⚠ Save failed, copy what you wrote somewhere else first, then check your network.

Check the Network

  1. Make sure your internet connection is stable. If the connection drops, Offline mode appears on the screen.
  2. Check whether a company VPN or security network blocks WebSocket connections.
  3. Check whether the same problem happens on another network.

✋ Note: Real-time co-editing uses WebSocket connections. Some network policies can limit them.

Refresh the Page

  1. Check that what you are writing is saved (Saved).
  2. Refresh the browser.
  3. Open the same note or task list again.
  4. Have other users refresh their screens too to see the latest version.

If You See a Notice That Edits from Elsewhere Were Not Applied

  1. If AI or someone elsewhere edits the same note while you are typing, Recoble holds off on applying that edit to protect what you are typing.
  2. A notice then appears at the top of the note. When you finish typing, click Apply again to apply it.
  3. The state before merging is kept in the version history.

If You Suspect a Conflict

  1. Check whether the same document is open in several tabs.
  2. Close older tabs and keep only the latest one.
  3. If some changes seem to be missing, check the recently edited area again.

💡 Tip: When several people edit a long document at the same time, split the work by section to reduce conflicts.

Restore from Version History

  1. Open Version history from the menu at the top of the note.
  2. Choose the version you want to go back to.
  3. Click Restore.

✋ Note: How far back you can view version content depends on your plan. A restore is also recorded as a new version, so you can always go back again.

Frequently Asked Questions

There is no save button. Is my work saved?

Recoble saves your edits automatically. If you see Saved at the top of the note, it is saved. Syncing may be delayed while the network is disconnected.

Why do changes show up late on other people's screens?

Updates can be delayed depending on the network connection, browser tab state, and WebSocket connection state.

Will refreshing lose what I wrote?

Saved content does not disappear. If the network was unstable, check that you see Saved before refreshing. If content seems to be missing, check the earlier state in Version history.
